Pakenham Little Athletics Centre - second half of the season
We are now back from our Christmas break and have a lot of events coming upf at both Region and State levels.
This weekend (28th January) will see 4 teams from the Centre competing in 7 races at the State Relay Finals. Lets wish them all good luck and every success.
The following weekend (4th February) sees us take up our annual challenge with Cranbourne Little Athletics Centre, this year being hosted by Cranbourne at Casey Fields. We need to be there for 8:30am in the morning and we will take part in a modified program withe both Centres competing for points and personal bests.
On the weekend of the 18th and 19th February there is the Region Track and Field Championships at Newborough/Moe as well as the U6-8 Junior Carnival. There will be no Centre meeting that weekend due to the numbers of entrants to the Region competition.
It's then smooth running to the end of the season. So catch your breath and get ready for a packed second half of the season.

Please note that we are still asking that all of our athletes are wearing the minimum required "uniform" for the Centre which is a white T-shirt and black shorts. The T-shirt needs to have the IGA patch sewn onto it on the back at the top and centred. We also have the Centre T-shirts and singlets available too for purchase at the Centre.
Region Track and Field

The Gippsland Region Track and Field Championships take place on the weekend of 18th and 19th February 2012.
The Region Championship is the qualifying round to decide which athletes will be able to compete at the State Championships on the 24th and 25th March in Bendigo.
A copy of the timetable for the day can be found via the following link - Region T+F Timetable.

The Under 6-8 Junior Athletes Carnival will be held on Saturday 18th February 2012 from 9.00am to 12.30pm. The event is open to all registered athletes who attend Centres in the Gippsland Country Region. The Carnival has been designed specifically for the youngest athletes to promote sportsmanship, friendship and participation in a non contact sport.
Children will compete in six events across the morning; 50m and 100m sprints, long jump, discus, shot put and On Track activities.
The Carnival will be held as the opening event for our Loy Yang B Gippsland Country Region Track and Field Championship so it is an excellent opportunity for families to entertain all of the children and enjoy a great family day.
